Chicken Rub

This is one of our more complicated flavor profiles, bringing in some things you don't typically find in BBQ, like cloves.  This rub is pretty good on its own, but brushing on one of our Dirty Apron BBQ sauces for the last 2 minutes of grilling on each side really brings it to the next level.  Goes well on chicken, grilled or smoked, pork butts, potatoes and carrots.

At Dirty Apron we’ve never understood why rubs don’t sell well.  They are a great way to bring layers of flavor to your grill, and what is simpler than popping open a lid and sprinkling some seasoning on your meat.  If it takes more than two minutes you’re doing it wrong.  Sprinkle generously on your meat or vegetable, rub in gently and grill.

While most of these rubs have a specific meat in the name you should feel free to experiment.  The name is just what I use them for the most, almost all of them get used on a wide variety of grilled food.

Our rubs are made in small batches in our Homestead Certified kitchen.  There are no additives in our rubs so if you find a clump simply break it up with your fingers when you find it.
